Good morning! Hope you all are having a lovely Saturday so far. I’m dropping in to let you know about something magical today (and no its not my new plant Spuds, even though I am quite smitten with him). It’s chocolate. It’s a superfood. It’s in these snack bars – which if I may say (and I can cause no one is here to really stop me…) are the best snack bars I have ever created or purchased. I am so over the moon about these they make me want to do a happy dance in my kitchen every time I have one. They are a perfect balance of bitter and sweet with the mixture of sesame seed butter and raw honey. A generous pinch of good quality pink salt (or sea salt) gives them a salty sweet that is undeniable. Plus they are chewy, you know, like those Quaker chewy bars we grew up on in our lunch sacks? THAT kind of chewy. With a great CRUNCH too thanks to all the yummy sesame seeds. And hello there is chocolate, good-for-you chocolate! Thanks to the incredible people over at ALOHA who make some of my favorite superfood products. I use their superfood powders, and now this chocolate, daily and feel so amazing. All of their products are raw, vegan, gluten free, non-GMO, preservative free, sustainably harvested and packaged, packed with nutrients from superfood greens, full of antioxidants, and made from only organic, real food.

Which gets me even more excited to say that I am now a new recipe contributor over on their site (*insert happy dance*) and am stoked to have this chewy, sweet, salty, crunchy, superfood chocolate snack square be my first of many new recipes I will develop using their stellar products. (Click for recipe.)

I have a list of some great links for you to peruse this morning (below). Make sure to give that last song a listen – Scott and I cannot stop dancing to it around the house this week (there’s a visual for ya).

*Although I am now a recipe contributor for ALOHA and received these products as a gift from them, it in no way influences how I feel about this company. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I personally believe ALOHA rocks.

SATURDAY LINKS

So grateful for Izzy taking the time to do all the hard work behind perfecting a homemade coconut yogurt recipe!

This strawberry macadamia nut milk is making me feel all summery and bright.

I just got one of those tiny, expensive canisters of matcha and am about to go crazy.

I’m ready to get and wear one of these cute pieces once this snow stops pouring.

I seriously love this lady and her creation of the word “quickle“.

I currently want to be found here, after hiking to here.

Loving this new workout circuit.

I now want to buy allllll the succulents (thanks to Spuds pictured above).

Any other die hard fans out there of The Format and FUN? If so, get ready to wet your pants. Nate just came out with a single, listen here.

Homemade snack bars are seriously one of my favourite things to make. Love that you used sesame seeds and tahini in these!

I just recently went to buy matcha and couldn’t believe how pricey it is for such a small amount. Luckily the store had it in bulk – it was so much cheaper that way!

They are one of mine too! And thanks so much, the pairing is pretty awesome. As for the matcha – nice find! It is so pricey. Excited to start experimenting with it though!

Jessie, you are way too cute! Spuds is also adorable. Chocolate is probably my favourite superfood (um, favourite food) ever and you had me at “like those Quaker chewy bars”. I loved those bars soooo much in high school. Yum! Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend :)

Aw Genevieve thank you! Isn’t Spuds awesome?! Hehe. And I agree about chocolate (duh) and those Quaker bars! Their only downside was being too small! Haha. Hope you had a lovely weekend too <3
